UK Cruisers Club Charity of the year



	UK CRUISERS REGISTERED CHARITY OF THE YEAR As each new UKC year begins, the club chooses a new registered charity as the beneficiary for its fundraising efforts throughout the year. From 1st March 2007 until 29th February 2008, Breast Cancer Care received the monies generated from the sales of the UKC Club Calendar, the raffle / auction at our annual Picnic in the Park (PITP) event and a number of other methods that were completed for fundraising. The grand total that has been sent to the charity is £2197.02, and a big thank you goes out to everyone who contributed by purchasing raffle tickets at PITP and at the Ace Cafe, bidding for items in the auction at PITP, and by buying the Breast Cancer Care pin badges. Well done to you all.

	The chosen registered charity for 1st March 2008 until 28th February 2009 is Leuka. Leuka is dedicated to raising funds to support research into the causes and treatment of leukaemia and the monies will go directly to Hammersmith Hospital, which is the national research centre for this disease. Your support, as always, is much appreciated for the forthcoming year.
