The RSPCA work tirelessly to deal with all animal welfare issues. The organisation will, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of animals.
The RSPCA also provide a 24 hour emergency cover for any animal that requires rescuing or treatment. The RSPCA receives no lottery or government funding and relies on public donations and legacies even though many people see the RSPCA as an emergency service for animal welfare.
I am Andy (simmo_simmons) and my role within the RSPCA is to collect and rescue all animals but I predominately deal with wildlife and as such have a great deal of contact with our wildlife hospital at East Winch near Kings Lynn.
East Winch is one of only four dedicated RSPCA wildlife hospitals in the UK. They deal with all British wildlife that is bought to the centre, assessing, treating as necessary, rehabilitating and releasing back into the wild, with post-release monitoring if possible. The centre is run by a dedicated team of knowledgeable staff.

The excellent facilities at East Winch are used to rehabilitate all wildlife but, in particular seals. Seals from all over the country are brought to East Winch and the cost of supplying fish to feed them, and the water for their habitat, is astronomical.
Allison, the manager of East Winch has said that she would like to name the new seals, as they come into the centre, after our own ukc handles. A donation of £10 when the seal is named after you would be greatly appreciated.
We will be having a gallery on the web site with pictures of the named seals for you to see, so if you would like to have your very own seal please let me know, via a pm from the forum, and I will give them the list of our names on a first come, first served basis. As you can read on the RSPCA web site, the seals are monitored post release and a picture of their travels is built up to gain further knowledge to help the next orphans.
British wildlife is a wonderful thing to see and it's centres like this that give help to our wildlife in these difficult, modern times.
Thank you for your support.
