UK Cruisers Charity of the year

As each new UK Cruisers year begins, the club chooses a registered charity as the beneficiary for its fundraising efforts throughout the year. From 1st March 2017 until 28th February 2018, Alzheimer's Society will receive the monies generated.

Alzheimer's Society

About Alzheimer's Society

In 2015/16, for every £1 we received, Alzheimer's Society spent 89p on directly improving the lives of people with dementia. The other 11p goes towards generating future income.

Thanks to you, last year, our income increased from £90.7 million to £97.9 million. We spent 12% more on our work meeting the needs of people affected by dementia, inspiring change and advancing research. Through our local services, your support directly helped over 100,000 people.

We are the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention. Weíve committed to spending £150 million on cutting-edge research over the next decade. Every project we fund directly addresses the needs and concerns of people affected by dementia.

We fight for the rights of everyone affected by dementia. Our campaigns keep dementia firmly at the top of the political agenda. And we raise awareness, pushing for a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice. Since February 2013, more than 1.7 million people have signed up to become Dementia Friends. They have learnt about the condition and the small things that they can do to support people with dementia in their communities.
